Our Founding Story
Growing up in a family of eight, raised by my single mother, farming was our only means of survival. Despite our hard work, my parents struggled to sell our crops before they spoiled, leading to significant financial losses and wasted effort. This hardship forced me to drop out of school, and my younger sister became pregnant at a young age. We weren’t alone—hundreds of farmers in our community faced the same devastating issue. Witnessing piles of fresh fruits and vegetables rot left a lasting impression on me and fueled my determination to find a solution.
Why Us
Food waste and carbon emissions are critical global issues that impact both the environment and the economy. By extending the shelf life of produce and reducing waste, Aval Agroecology not only helps farmers secure better incomes but also contributes to a healthier planet. Our solar drying systems eliminate the need for fossil fuels in the drying process, ensuring a clean and sustainable production method.
