About Us
Founded in 2021 by Grace Nabuuma, AVAL Agroecology Ltd is a Ugandan social enterprise working to reduce post-harvest losses for fruit and vegetable farmers through solar drying technology. Grace was raised by a single mother in a family of eight, relying on farming to survive. Despite hard work, most of their harvest spoiled before it could be sold. This led to deep hardship Grace dropped out of school, and her sister became pregnant at a young age, Inspired by her experience and supported by Jangu International, Grace created AVAL to help farmers preserve their produce, earn more, and live sustainably. We partner with farmers to dry, package, and distribute nutritious, ready to eat products, extending shelf life and fighting food waste, one fruit at a time.
